When we use a new laptop battery, we always full charge/discharge it at least 3 times. However when we charge it, something wrong may happen. For example, the laptop battery is not charging. At that time, you should not worry about it. Then follow the steps below.
First, go to Device Manager. If you use Windows XP, click Start, right-click My Computer, choose Properties. Harware tab, click Device Manager. If you use Vista or Windows 7, click Start, device manager type, press Enter.
In Device Manager, click the + for each type of batteries or a small arrow to the left of battery cells. Confirm that you want to remove this driver. Note, it is necessary to comply with the procedure, avoid removing the other driver.
When removing the driver is complete, select the action from the top menu, click Scan for hardware changes section. When the computer finished scanning devices, the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery will reappear.
If after the procedure, the battery for laptop is not charging your battery may be damaged.
Now you only have 3 options: Buy a new battery. Check the number of batteries, power lines ... to buy the right kind of battery; do not use the batteries, which use electricity directly from the source through the adapter.
